In 1982, Dr. Bachireddy co-founded the Heart Institute of East Texas with Dr. Chandra. Since its beginning, The Heart Institute has been instrumental in bringing state-of-the-art heart and vascular care to Deep East Texas. Our patients can see their cardiologist and have access to cardiac stress testing, echocardiography, vascular sonography, labs, x-ray imaging, Cath Lab procedures, Cardiac Rehab, Heart Failure Clinic, and Rhythm Clinic all under the same roof. In addition to our two Lufkin Offices, we also maintain offices in Livingston, Jasper, Center, San Augustine, Hemphill, Crockett, Woodville and Nacogdoches.

The Heart Institute of East Texas served an integral role in establishing top rated heart care programs at both Memorial Medial Center / St. Luke’s Health Memorial Lufkin and Woodland Heights Medical Center. The development of these programs has been very successful and were instrumental in making Lufkin the hub of cardiology care in Deep East Texas.

For the past 5 years, The Heart Institute of East Texas has partnered with St Luke’s Health Memorial Lufkin to achieve the HeartCARE Center National Distinction of Excellence designation by the American College of Cardiology (ACC). They also received the PIONEER Award from ACC for being one of the first ten hospitals in the nation to receive this prestigious designation.
